“I made a draft before I had settled on this final piece. This piece is in a G major scale and each quarter note equals 100. Quarter notes equal one beat. The song has 3 parts. ABA. I came up with part B when I was thinking about a Cardinal and its call, and I came up with part A when I went outside, on the curb. That is why I named this song “Song of the Birds.” The motive is repeated and sometimes is changed throughout the song, and when it does change, it isn’t changed that much. The only instrument that it is using is the piano, but if I had the choice, I would add a flute, oboe, or a clarinet (maybe all three).”
