Persistence

Wayne Alexander

“Persistence means to keep trying, even when things get tough. My song tries to represent that with a melody that is sort of happy and sad at the same time. It combines the light sounds of the piano with the soothing sounds of French horn and trumpet. It has a darker section in the middle, and that represents the part of life where you must persist, and face your fears. I usually like to write for string instruments, but this year it was fun to experiment with the unique sounds of the brass instruments.”
