Our 40th Opus concert is scheduled for Monday, April 27th, 2026 at Elley Long Music Center in Colchester, VT!
Join us this winter as young composers are paired with professional composers to create an original piece of music. Selected works will then be premiered live in concert by the musicians of TURNmusic to hundreds of friends, family and community members.
Mentoring window opens (first posting only needs to be a few measures and an idea): Monday, December 1, 2025
Initial submissions due by: Friday January 9, 2026
Completed works/ submissions due: Friday, March 6
Selections announced: Friday, March 13
- No experience necessary!
- Open to students in grades 3-12
- Any combination of solo, duet, or chamber ensemble from the instrumentation below:
- Strings: Violin x2, Viola, Cello, Bass
- Winds: Clarinet/Bass Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Flute
- Piano

Opus 40 will take place on Monday, April 27th, 2026 at Elley Long Music Center in Colchester, VT! It is a special day full of student workshops with special guests, rehearsals, interviews, and creative learning.
We are excited to be working with TURNmusic as this year’s performing ensemble, under the direction of Anne Decker.
