Want Me Not is a piece of contemporary music that I am intending to be played by a rock band, and to be influenced by the country genre. I was influenced by a lot of 90's country, including artists like Jo Dee Messina and The Chicks, when writing the lyrics and melody to this song. I would like to work on writing parts for each instrument that takes inspiration from this era of country. I would also like to work on creating backup vocals that support the melody and learn how to structure the harmonies. I also want to write a violin part that emulates the way the fiddle is played in many country songs as a countermelody.
