This song is the first song of this complexity that I feel I have gotten to a completely finished. I've pushed myself to try writing a quick, upbeat string quartet, instead of my usual half-finished orchestral cinematic works or big band pieces. The first idea of this piece came to me at the piano, when I was experimenting with chords, and came up with the ones in this piece. At the time, I had a much slower piece that I was working on with Music-Comp, but I opted to continue with this one as it would be more fun for the musicians, I think, and would present me with the challenge of writing something a bit more lively. All in all, I'm glad I made the transition.
