Your SCHOOL MEMBERSHIP provides teachers and students with classroom materials and support from our team. Student composers gain access to reduced mentoring fees for all events this year, including the Electronic Music Showcase and Opus 39. Interested in working with us? Ask your teacher(s) to visit this page or reach out to us with questions.
Independent students may also register HERE at any time to work with our mentors and learn more about composing electronic music.
No prior experience necessary, open to all students in grades 3-12. Use and share work from any DAW!
First drafts/ideas may be as short as 4 measures and a statement of intent! Much of the work will happen over the course of a few months as the young composers work with their mentor.
First Posting: Rolling Submission through Friday, January 31st, 2025.
Completed works will be due by April 1st.

Will Andrews (Willverine)
Will Andrews is an educator at Winooski HS in Vermont. As a trumpet player, composer, & music producer he is better known as “Willverine” and can be seen performing at Burlington’s Wallflower Collective most Wednesdays, often collaborating with a variety of special guests. His discography includes original works, remixes, and his latest album “Music Like Dirt” released in 2023.
Amanda Rizzo
Amanda Rizzo is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Baldwin, New York. While her primary instruments include piano, voice, and violin, she is also a modular synthesist and theremin player. She composes music for a variety of ensembles, such as chamber groups, choir, and symphony orchestra. Her versatile skillset allows her to write in different styles for different settings & She is especially known for modifying & warping field recordings in her music.
Katie Semro
Katie Semro is a performer, music-maker, and educator from New Hampshire. She loves creating & performing with Ableton Live and runs an online group called ‘Women with Live’ to create positive experiences for women with music technology.

All participating student composers are invited to attend our first-ever Electronic Music Showcase on Tuesday, April 29th at the Montpelier Performing Arts HUB on the former VCFA Campus in Montpelier, VT.
Together, we will chat about gear, learn about production, and create new sounds together. We'll cap off the event with a showcase of new student work and a special live performance!
This event will be open to the public, regardless of participation in our mentoring program. Stay tuned for sign-ups to attend!
