Woodwind Quartet in D Major

Anna Halladay

Grade 8, Edmunds Middle School, Burlington, VT

"This is a light, lazy, happy wind quartet that reminds me of swimming in the lake on a hot summer day. The main theme is interrupted in the middle with a minor section for the feeling when you're swimming in the lake, and you have the sudden fear that there is some sea creature in the lake with you, but it resolves to the first melody in the end.

I'd like to apologize in advance to the bassoon, for writing such an awfully boring part."
