Inverno in Tre Movimentos

Anna Scoppettone

Grade 11, Montpelier High School, VT

"This piece is about the emotions that one feels when going through a Vermont winter as cold and miserable as this one. The first movement, Frustrazione (meaning frustration) is a representation of what one might feel when they look at their thermometer and see -20 degrees. The second movement, Rimorso (meaning remorse) is a representation of what one might feel when they reflect on how they complained of 50 degree weather in September. The final movement, Serenità (meaning serenity) is what one feels when it's 40 degrees out and one can just wear a sweater instead of a down jacket and a portable space heater."
