Overture to Mud Season

 "This piece is intended to portray Vermont's infamous fifth season- Mud Season. The piece opens with the end of winter, and the beginnings of warmer times. The second part depicts a hapless driver becoming mired in a muddy stretch of road. He is forced to admit defeat, and wait for rescue. The last section Begins with the call of the Redwing Blackbird, and shows the drying of the ground and the beginning of spring."
